Social Media: From “Checking a Box” to Strategic Content

Let’s start with some radical honesty (the best, and our only, policy): depending on your business or organization, you may not need to be on every social media platform out there. However, once you decide to use one, you had better actually use it—preferably, wisely.

At Chalkbridge, we won’t just deliver you social media content, although we can certainly do that; we’ll first work with you to establish your social media strategy. After all, without an “X” on the map, you’re just kind of wandering through the wilderness.

The first tip is free: if you are using a social media platform simply because you read somewhere that it’s important to do so and you want to check it off like a box on your to-do list, it’s unlikely to provide much ROI. Even if it’s a free platform, the time you sink into it won’t be worth it if you’re essentially throwing darts at a wall without a clearly defined dartboard.

On the other hand, if the audience(s) you’re trying to reach are using certain social media, then by all means let’s make sure you are getting the right message and imagery in front of them, in the right tone, on the platform(s) that they have chosen to pay attention to.
